How old where you when you realized that quitting is a bad thing? Kids taunt each other with this pejorative word – Quit! Parents tell their children not to leave so they cannot stop when they have done something. I was guilty they come. But it is OK to quit? Or better yet, when is it OK to quit?
There is a Turkish proverb that I read recently: “No matter how you look in the wrong direction, you walked away.” Have you traveled in the wrong direction? Have you put your arms insisted, does the job, or are exempt from this obligation? Was he unhappy?
I’m sure you know someone who uses a lot of time and energy to a working marriage, and finally throw in the towel. I know many people (on both sides of a divorce), they say tried to hang too long, too hard, knew it was the wrong thing. They committed themselves and they stayed with him.
I am not in favor of divorce or the task too early. But realistically, sometimes you just know you’re on the wrong track, and no matter how far you’ve gone, it’s time to conversion was.
Investors who are in business to sometimes talk about “money in the wrong.” They are too far down the road (large investment), and have more money to crush him in the hope that it will work. If they know probably not the best option is to stop wasting money! Stop.
Have you done something – a committee of an organization, a task or duty to neighbors, etc. – to see that this is not at all what you thought it would? You do not have, or maybe you have a whore. But you’re not a quitter, so if you slow down for fear of each meeting. Yuck!
If “yes” to something that you do not have to say, say no to everything else. The “no” to the family, drawing, friends, reading, mowing the lawn, take a nap – anything! This is the moment you’ll never come back. Why be unhappy when you know it is not right for you?
Another amazing thing about staying with something, if you are not required: You will not give your best, and others know. Instead of pretending is to clean. Enter your bags and find a way to validate or out. It is best for you and the rest of the group – and the person agrees to follow you on the way! Step aside, what you do and let someone else do your work. Everyone ends up winning!
