Get Durable and Safe Playground Surfacing

Posted by admin on July 4, 2010 in Personal with No Comments

Getting the right playground surfacing for children’s playground is essential to help save them from any injuries related to their activities around the playground arena. It is reported that over 200,000 playground injuries end up in the ER every year, and around 90 percent playground structures are considered unsafe due to the inadequate/poor playground surfaces. If you want to provide safe play environment for your children, you may want to choose using Rubber Mulch for surfacing. Why rubber mulch? Well, some of the reasons being that rubber mulch is durable, will not rot or mold, and it will not breed or attract insects.

But other than that, rubber mulch such as Rubberecycle’s playground rubber mulch is approved by ADA and guaranteed to last a lifetime. The non-toxic and odor-free rubber mulch has been proven to provide best shock absorption of a fall, compared to other surfacing such as pea gravel, wood mulch, uniform wood chips, fine gravel and 3cm rubber mat, to name a few. The Playsafer 1/2 inch chips are smaller than most others and they are too heavy to be easily blown or washed away by winds or heavy rains. There are several playground mulch colors available for you to choose, from basic black to cocoa brown, terracotta red to forest green, to name a few. You can find out how much rubber mulch you need by using the Rubber Mulch calculator available in Rubberecycle’s website. The Lakewood, New Jersey-based rubber recycle company is a member of IPEMA and is listed on the Global Recycling Network. They have been featured in the news and installed rubber mulch in the White House’s first playground.
